JMM’s Website Redesign

CLIENT: JEWISH MUSEUM OF MARYLAND

Designed at Eighty2degrees, creative direction by Ambica Prakash

The Jewish Museum of Maryland, located in Baltimore, Maryland, aims to connect people to Jewish experiences and serves as a cultural hub for Jewish Maryland. In preparation for the museum’s reopening, Eighty2degrees collaborated with our web development partner, Lightning Fruit, to create a brand new site.

The site used JMM’s new branding to create a module-based site, focusing on an easily navigable user interface and simple maintenance on the back-end for museum staff. A limited color palette creates a warm, impactful experience as a digital representation of the museum space. Patterns from works in JMM’s collections reinforce the museum’s emphasis on Jewish art, and the arch shapes throughout the site serve as a nod to architectural elements in the physical museum.

Post-launch, average engagement time increased by 102% per user. Weekly active users increased by 105% in the month after launch, and overall engagement increased by 24%.
