2022 Hunger Report
CLIENT: CAPITAL AREA FOOD BANK
Designed at Eighty2degrees, creative direction by Ambica Prakash
For the third year in a row, Eighty2degrees partnered with CAFB to work on their annual Hunger Report microsite. This year’s report was a bit different from the previous, as it focused on the food bank’s client narratives to tell the story of food insecurity alongside the numbers. Through graphs, video testimonials, imagery, and infographics, the report showcased inequities in the region and provided solutions for an “inclusive recovery”.
The site uses a clean and structured grid created for last year’s report to make it easier for users to digest large amounts of content. I storyboarded subtle animations in the hero and section dividers to bring the idea of staggering data points and diverging paths to life. Pulling from CAFB’s visual language, I used halftone images of food add texture when layered, and a bright color palette to indicate hope for a better future.
